No Barriers USA has extended the application deadline for its Mission: Mt. Whitney climbing expedition to Sunday, March 30.
Injured/wounded veterans or service members are encouraged to apply. The range of disabilities No Barriers USA can accommodate include, but are not limited to, amputation, blindness, severe burns, post-traumatic stress disorder, and traumatic brain injury.
Pending conditions, 15 to 20 candidates will be selected to climb California’s Mt. Whitney beginning September 1, with a summit planned for September 11. Located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, Mt. Whitney has an elevation of 14,505 feet and is ranked as the highest summit in the contiguous United States.
Candidates must be willing to participate in two multiday training events prior to the expedition, and attend pre- and post-program webinars, training, and other events.
