Advanced Arm Dynamics (AAD), headquartered in Redondo Beach, California, announced the opening of the Gulf Coast Center of Excellence, Houston, on March 16. The center, which includes an on-site prosthetics lab, is located at 1200 Binz Street, Suite 630, Houston, TX 77004. The center’s clinical manager is Scott Spring, CP. The rehabilitation coordinator is Lisa Smurr Walters, OTR.

Spring
Spring joined the AAD team at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland, in 2011, where he provided upper-limb prosthetic care to service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. He was named clinical manager of the Gulf Coast Center of Excellence in 2013, participating in the selection and preparation of the property prior to the center’s launch.

Walters
Walters joined AAD this month, after serving as the supervisor of occupational therapy at the Center for the Intrepid, Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, for four years. She is also an adjunct professor with the Baylor University Army-Baylor Occupational Therapy program.
“As the fourth most populous city in the nation and home of the largest medical center in the world, Houston is an ideal location for our newest Center of Excellence,” said John Miguelez, CP, FAAOP, AAD president and senior clinical director.
AAD plans an open house for the medical community later this spring.
