A Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Services (HP) subsidiary, SafeGuard Services (SGS), has landed a contract from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to become a Zone Program Integrity Contractor (ZPIC). The contract is worth up to $300 million, and is for one year, with four one-year option periods. As part of this new contract, SGS will oversee Region 6, which includes Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington DC. SGS is also the Region 1 ZPIC, which covers California, Hawaii, Nevada, American Samoa, Guam, and the Mariana Islands.
