Hanger, Austin, Texas, has named Gabrielle B. Adams as the principal accounting officer effective August 11. Adams, who was Hanger’s vice president corporate controller, succeeds Melissa Debes, who had held the role since September 2014. Adams joined the company in February 2015.
Debes will transition to a newly created role, vice president of finance-products and services, where she will be responsible for leading the finance and accounting functions for the company’s products and services group. She will also play a key leadership role in the needs assessment and implementation plan for Hanger’s enterprise resource planning system, and will continue to assist the company’s accounting team in the completion of its consolidated financial statement remediation and audit.
Prior to joining the company, Adams served as the chief financial officer for the Texas Bankers Association, a trade association supporting the state’s banking industry, where she directed all aspects of the accounting department, including the development and execution of strategic initiatives. She was also responsible for the implementation of process improvements, and for the management of annual financial auditing conducted by an independent outside audit firm.
