Ottobock, Austin, Texas, announced its creation of an activity and sports medicine (ASM) business unit to combine off-the-shelf orthotics, bracing, and supports products, including those from the company’s acquisitions of Tempe, Arizona-based OrthoRehab and Bio Cybernetics International doing business as Cybertech Medical, La Verne, California.
“Ottobock has developed and marketed orthotic products for decades,” said Matt Waidelich, president and CEO of the ASM business unit. “The purchase of companies like Bio Cybernetics has spurred increased focus on spinal bracing in particular, allowing us to help meet the increased demand for nonsurgical interventions.”
