National Government Services (NGS) has announced that the 2016 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) amount in controversy threshold for judicial review will be increased to $1,500 from $1,460, effective January 1, 2016. The amount for Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) hearing requests filed on or after January 1, 2016, will remain at $150. The amount in controversy sets the threshold for the minimum claim amount that can be brought before an ALJ or judicial review, the third and fourth levels of the audit claims appeal process.
