SIMONA AMERICA, Archbald, Pennsylvania, announced that John Ploskonka, executive vice president sales and marketing, will retire in December.
“John has come full circle in an illustrious career that began in 1974 as an inside sales trainee for General Tire and Rubber-which subsequently became Gencorp, Empire Plastics, and ultimately Boltaron Performance Products-and ended with him presiding over PVC sales of both his first and last employer 40 years later,” said Adam Mellen, vice president CSO.
In 1997, Ploskonka began working at HPG International as sales manager, and by 2001 was appointed general manager of extruded products. When HPG was purchased by SIMONA AMERICA in 2004, Ploskonka was named executive vice president sales and marketing. In the ensuing ten years, he oversaw a 600 percent increase in sales, the relocation of HPG operations from Mountaintop to Hazleton, Pennsylvania, and the relocation of SIMONA AMERICA operations to Archbald. With SIMONA AMERICA’s acquisitions of Laminations and Boltaron LLC in 2014, Ploskonka assumed product management responsibility for the consolidation and market development of PVC.
“It is with both sadness and deep appreciation that we accept John’s decision to retire,” said Mellen.
