WillowWood, Mt. Sterling, Ohio, was recently honored with a Healthy Ohio Healthy Worksite Award from the Bureau of Healthy Ohio, which is located within the state’s Department of Health. The award recognizes Ohio employers that have demonstrated a commitment to employee health through comprehensive worksite health promotion and wellness programs. This was the first year that WillowWood applied for the annual state recognition award. One of 68 Ohio employers to receive the state award, WillowWood was recognized at the bronze level during a luncheon at the Health Action Council’s 2016 Annual Conference on January 20.
WillowWood offers health and wellness programs for its staff, including an employee health fair, tobacco cessation, walking challenges, community gardening, weight loss, and fitness training. Additionally, all employees are encouraged to use the company’s workout facility, half-mile outdoor walking path, sand volleyball court, and three ponds for catch-and-release fishing.
