The Ekso GT exoskeleton, Ekso Bionics Holdings, Richmond, California, will have global communication connectivity through Vodafone Group, London, England, a multinational telecommunications company.
“We chose Vodafone to provide a single global solution that ensures seamless connectivity, no matter where a rehabilitation hospital is located,” said Thomas Looby, Ekso Bionics’ CEO. “With Vodafone IoT [Internet of Things] technology, we can monitor how our exoskeletons are performing in real time, providing therapists with data on how the patient’s rehabilitation is progressing.”
Using the Vodafone IoT subscriber identity module (SIM) for all its exoskeletons globally and having a single worldwide partner delivering the service has allowed Ekso Bionics to simplify its manufacturing process, stated a Vodafone press release.
