OPAF closed its 2016 season of wheelchair tennis trainings and clinics on August 21 during the Winston-Salem Open Tennis Tournament in North Carolina. Instructor Frank Adams led the clinic with his brother, Mark Adams, who participated in the 1980 Olympics as a runner and coach. The morning session was highlighted by the participation of Association of Tennis Professionals tour players Eric Butorac and Scott Lipsky, who played from wheelchairs. Other attendees included teaching professionals, physical therapy students from Duke University, and wheelchair players.
The clinic represented the final event of a two-year program funded by the United States Tennis Association Wheelchair Tennis that allowed OPAF to host ten trainings and clinics in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
