NPI Help Requested Responses

So the overall responses I got were:

– Have you logged into your profile and tried to change all the information there?
And to be honest, you may need to call NPPES multiple times to get someone who actually can help you or get you to the right person. I know they have people who work directly with this kind of stuff.

– It would be difficult to bill under your company without you knowing it. NPI’s are important, but Provider ID’s, Tax ID’s and remit addresses are more important. If she tried to bill under your company, the payments and EOB’s would go to you. Medicare allows only one remit address.

It’s the same for other payors. If she billed under your group, payors like Medicaid, BC/BS and UHC would also send the payments to you.

I did get a few phone calls about this as well. the overall here is that the physician is NOT in the registry nor the NPPES registry under our NPI. The CMS database is the only place the physician appears to be showing. I have confirmed with parties that where it counts we are solely listed. I have never determined how remove it from CMS Datatbase as the “Contact Us” links are endless links of seemingly unrelated departments.
