The O&P Tech Conference was born out of a strong desire to discover new areas of clinical innovation and technology in the O&P profession, as a means of improving the care of our patients.
The annual event serves as a venue for merging dynamic thinkers and innovators with investors and entrepreneurs from Silicone Valley as a means of catapulting and more rapidly advancing the technological developments in our profession.
This year we’re dividing the conference into two parts: business and scientific innovation. We’ll be showcasing such business topics as the future of value-based medicine in O&P, and how Big Data will soon improve patient care and the quality of our practices. Our scientific presentations will include a detailed review of the UCSF Osseointegration project, and OPRA — the only FDA approved implant for this procedure. We’ll also be exploring the world of brain-to-machine interfaces for neurologically-controlled prostheses. Our presenters will review the use of virtual reality tools in the clinical setting, and 3D printing applications for O&P devices.
The goal of this conference is simple. We want to Educate (the public about emerging technologies and innovations), Stimulate (investigation of new clinical frontiers), and Unite (innovators and investors).
Our hope is that audience members from a broad array of educational and professional backgrounds will attend each year to help us bride the gap between concept and reality…… in an attempt to improve the lives of the patients we serve.
