Places available in FREE Transfemoral Subischial Vacuum Socket Course, 15.5 CEUs

This is a reminder that experienced Certified Prosthetists have 2 opportunities to attend the 2016 NU-FlexSIV Socket Course, a free, hands-on, 2-day Continuing Education course (15.5 ABC/BOC CEUs) that trains experienced Certified Prosthetists in the fundamentals, fabrication and fitting of a subischial vacuum socket. Places are still available.
SESSION #1: June 8 and 9, 2016 (Wednesday and Thursday)
SESSION #2: July 22 and 23, 2016 (Friday and Saturday)
Stefania Fatone, PhD, BPO(Hons) and Ryan Caldwell, CP/L, FAAOP, developers of the NU-FlexSIV Socket, will lead the course. Each NU-FlexSIV Socket session is capped at 12 participants to ensure maximum interaction with the developer-instructors, and full participation accrues 15.5 ABC/BOC CE credits. Certified Prosthetists will take home hands-on knowledge about the NU-FlexSIV Socket, the NU-FlexSIV Socket Manual(c) on a USB drive, the liner that fits your Patient Model, and the check socket that you have fabricated.
The cost of the NU-FlexSIV Socket Course is supported by Department of Defense (DOD) grant W81XWH-10-0744 as part of the research project “Development of Subischial Prosthetic Sockets with Vacuum-Assisted Suspension for Highly Active Persons with Transfemoral Amputations“. Participants pay no tuition, but Certified Prosthetists and their Patient Models must provide their own transportation, overnight accommodations, dinners, and incidental expenses.
Submit your registration as soon as possible. We will accept the first 12 completed registrations for each of the 2 sessions. Registration is complete when we receive full documentation for both the Certified Prosthetist and his/her Patient Model.

If space remains available, the deadline for you and your Patient Model to register is:
Wednesday, May 11, 2016 for Session 1 (to be held June 8 and 9, 2016)
Friday, June 24, 2016 for Session 2 (to be held July 22 and 23, 2016)
This time frame allows us to order the correct sized liner that will fit your Patient Model and be used with his/her subischial socket.
