I have a patient with a disorder that causes her to have super thin
skin with almost diabetic type callous and ulceration on the plantar
aspect of her feet and back of calf. Doctor is doing wound care along
with aggressive plantar wound care. Unlike the diabetic she has
complete feeling so her feet are terribly sore. She is non weight
bearing for sometime now but needs to start standing.
Doctor wanted me to look into options for silicone socks ( I know
they have them with plantar gel ) but we are looking for something all
around the LE. Almost like a prosthetic liner but a foot as well.
Any ideas would be helpful. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
