Dear List Members:
We have a patient who requires a post-op style hip abduction orthosis. This male patient has a colostomy on the affected side which will require a deviation from our typical Orthomerica bilateral plastic hip shell design. Using this style would likely require trimming too much material away to maintain rotational stability and comfort. Any suggestions on hip abduction orthosis options that would bypass or avoid the colostomy area?? Thanks for any responses.
