It has been a learning experience for our facility with Medicare’s prepay
audits. We are finally at the point where we are comfortable with all of our
Medicare patients and being in compliance. We were referred to The Audit
Team by our Ossur representative, and I am so happy for this referral. I
have talked with Stephanie Greene and she has looked at three of our claims
that are at the ALJ level. Stephanie reviewed all of our documentation and
gave us her feedback on where we went wrong. She gave us advice on how we
can correct our issue, she even went as far as filing the ALJ requests for
us. Even though the ALJ may take a couple years, The Audit Team will go
through the ALJ with us. We have never gone this far with our appeals, and
it’s about time we fought back. Stephanie Greene is very knowledgeable and
is extremely helpful. We would strongly recommend other companies to use The
Audit Team not only to help with the appeal process but for an educational
standpoint as well. With the audits starting back up I’m extremely grateful
to have them as a tool.
