8 month old knee disarticulation

Bryan Swint

I am looking for some assistance from anyone who has experience with a
infant knee disarticulation/long AK patient. I have an 8 month old knee
disarticulation pt who is ready for prosthetic management. I have done some
reasearch and found that often a knee is not provided this early (due to
anatomical alignment issues). Is this still the case? What kind of
suspension types have people used with success or unsuccessfully? My
initial thoughts were to use a endoskeletal system with a selisian belt or
a tes belt and no prosthetic knee. Based on my reading, maybe introduce a
prosthetic knee in the next 6 months to a year. Any thoughts and advice are
welcome.
Thanks.
