In one of several responses I recently received from CMS
regarding RAC audits is a document stating that they do not have any statistics
(coincidentally) on the number of denied appeals that are getting overturned. So, I am
compiling a list of all Medicare audit appeals that have been overturned in an
attempt to produce rough statistics. I
am asking if all providers can send me the following: (1) business name (2) total
number of appeals/audits (3) number of appeals that have been overturned so far
and at what appeal level. I will be
sending this information to CMS, OMHA, HHS and OIG. I will also be sending this to members of
congress and the senate. Thank you all
