EMERGENCY MEETING Step 2 Re: Dear Congressman or Dear Senator Letter

Lou Haberman CPO

To All,

Attached is a generic letter that can be edited by you. Be accurate with
your edits and make the letter your own. You should send it, immediately, to
your Senators and Congressmen. Make them aware of your plight and
follow-up with them. Meet with them. Go there with your peers and competitors. Your
staff, patients, peers, friends, family, media connections and others
affected by the government’s assault on your profession. It is time to make
some noise.

If you participated in the CMS Conference Call yesterday, it should be
clear to you that they will proceed in their actions with impunity. It was
even suggested by the Moderator that you contact your Congressman!

Meeting is not yet scheduled, but you should be sending out your letters
now and urging others to do the same. Hopefully, you have printed-out and
posted my previous note intended to inform your patients about this debacle.

Thanks to all of you that provided great material and continuing support.
Will post their stuff soon.

Hi Lou

I have posted all this info on as many amputee website’s and I am getting
a lot of great response. Do you have a copy of the Dear Senator/Dear
Congressman letter yet?

If so could you send me a copy to post.

Thanks

Michele Hattingh

To All:

We have posted the link/attached document in our waiting rooms to inform
our patients of the gravity of the CMS policies and the impact and
consequences for them. If you have not already done so, you may want to do
the same.
Feel free to edit it, or write your own, to suit your own needs … but be
factual.
Our patients/clients are the best advocates for our profession. They
should be encouraged to call and write letters to their politicians.
Consumer
letters are scrutinized more than our own.
Concurrently, we shall offer them a Sample Letter (Dear Senator, Dear
Congressman) so that they can produce their own letters. Our Sample Letter
will be posted shortly. Patients may want to receive this post, as well.
