There is person who works at very large company telling a new bilateral AKA with skin graphs on the upper thigh and staples still in the residual limb that the shrinker should be applied now. I am wondering if this is some new idea or if the person is off his rocker. Pt was given mixed information and now the Pt is confused, because I have been under the impression that a shrinker is not to be applied until all staples are removed and the shin is healed. I am looking for clarification. Because this individual had convinced the Pt and PT that I am old school and he knows all of the latest and greatest ways to do prosthetics.
your assistance would be helpful for future Pt.
thank you.
