Effective for claims with date of service on or after September 1, 2012, the only products which may be billed using L1930, L1932, L1940, L1960, L1970 and L1971 are those for which a written Coding Verification Review has been made by the Pricing, Data Analysis and Coding (PDAC) Contractor and subsequently published on the appropriate Product Classification List. Products which have not received coding verification review from the PDAC must be billed using code A9270.
Suppliers should contact the Pricing, Data Analysis, and Coding (PDAC) contractor for guidance on the correct coding of these items.
What will this new rule mean to suppliers that use Central Fabrication or even practitioners that fabricate in house? Is this an issue that we need to be bringing to awareness?
