Carbon Fiber Coloring

Hi,
  I am looking for any helpful hints with laminating carbon fiber with color. Does anyone have any tips on getting a color/tint on a carbon fiber lamination without using fabric? One suggestion was spray painting the carbon fiber braid before lamination. Does anyone find this technique to work? Does anyone have anything else that they use?
