soft stop for knee hyperextension

Clinical Orthotic Consultants

Hello All,

60 year old female, stroke 10 years ago, was fit with an “AFO” from a
Podiatrist. She now presents with 35 deg recurvatum.

She needs a KAFO to control ankle and recurvatum. Free motion at the knee.
Are there any knee joints available that provide a “soft” extension stop? I
don’t want her to complain about the “clicking” when she hits the extension
stop. It has been years since I needed to fit a KAFO without a lock and
figured someone may have come up with a solution to my problem in that time.

Thanks.
