Hello all,
I have a lovely lady, 84 years young, who is a new right transfemoral amputee. She is quite strong and can use a walker without a prosthesis in excess of 100 feet. We are in the process of fabricating a transfemoral prosthesis and are deciding on appropriate components.
One of her hobbies is playing a concert harp. The big ones that rest on your shoulder. In order to play there are pedals on the right and left feet in order to create sharps and flats in a piece of music. (i’ll try to enclose a pic)
So the issue is that I’m looking for a knee that is able to lock in a degree of flexion, much like the Mauch SNS or Catech hydraulic, that is suited for a lower level amputee, and have the ability to apply pressure on the pedals. I know that there are microprocessor knees that can do this as well, but that may be too much for her.
Any help is appreciated.
