The Ertl Amputees Across America event continues led by Ertl amputee Joe
Sapere and Amputee Across America 4 year veteran. Joe Sapere, AJ. Johnson
and Gary Summers, departed by bicycle on the two month coast to coast
excursion that originated from Tustin, California on June 6th and are riding
through Las Vegas, Tucson, Albuquerque, Colorado Springs, Wichita, Oklahoma
City, Dallas, Ft Worth, Jackson, Birmingham, Dothan, Tallahassee, St
Petersburg, Clearwater, and ending up at Vero Beach, Florida on July 31st.

The team is scheduled to arrive HealthSouth Lakeshore Rehab Hospital
,Birmingham Alabama marking more than 1/2 way of their trip cross country
bicycle /skydiving trip ,and HealthSouth Rehab Hospital in Montgomery on
July 19, 2006 and Dothan July 20 and 21 .

Three of the team are Ertl amputee participants , Amber J. Johnson, who is a
recent Ertl recipient , Joe Sapere and Ron King ErtlReconstruction.com
webmaster. Ron participated and recently completed the Oklahoma city to
Dallas segment .

AJ made a leap from a airplane at Skydive Dallas on July 8th.

The purpose of the cross country trip is to promote and advocate for the
Ertl amputation surgical procedure

prosthetic outcomes

The team distributes Ertl Osteomyoplastic: Beyond the Bridge videos and
speaks of the benefits of the procedure along the way to press, hospital
staff and amputees.

profit organization organized under the Alabama Association of the
Physically Challenged, an amputee support group in Montgomery, Al.

The group will stop by over 20 HealthSouth Care centers, Shriners and VA
Rehab hospitals and facilities along the way to promote the benefits of the
Ertl Procedure to surgeons, physical therapists, prosthetists and amputees.

On the site is their itinerary and journals for 2006 which shows the
visitation schedule and the cities and dates they will visit.

It has the daily journals for the ride which are a real hoot to read.

Amputees, bicyclists and prosthetists are encouraged to participate in
segments of the rides and/or cheer the team on as they arrive and depart
their scheduled cities.
