Dear Listserv members:
I am looking for examples of private health insurance coverage restrictions for either prosthetic or orthotic services. Some examples that I have found include policies that restrict amputees to one limb per life or policies that cap prosthetic benefits at $2,000 per year. I would also like to hear about insurers that offer unrestricted O&P coverage.
The purpose of this inquiry is to develop a national snapshot of where O&P insurance coverage stands today so that the profession can determine whether orthotic and/or prosthetic coverage is getting better or worse.
