These are the replies I got from the list serve.
United = $2500.00 per year cap. Cigna = $1000.00 per year cap. Humana no cap. Others = ??
UHC= max O&P/DME $2500 cap per year for all groups over 50 lives
Anthem= No microprocessor controlled prostheses. (C-Legs, and myoelectrics)
Not a healthy trend!
I’ve encountered Humana only paying for the basic prosthesis no flex foot etc….
Grab that bull by the horns!!! I’m not quite sure on the insurances you
mentioned, but GHI has a $1,500 annual max!!!
Hope that helps you in some way.
I noticed Cigna is not on your list but a few years ago I was insured by them when they (possibly a deal cut with my local Benefit Board who administers insurance plans) placed a thousand ($1000.00) dollar a year limitation on prosthetics. I am R-BK from a 1969 motorcycle accident and had worn out a Flex foot speedwalking. The logic of using a foot to maintain health by walking was totally lost on the bureaucrats.
