I received a letter today from Ossur that stated they were changing the
“Ossur Affiliates” name to “Ossur Academy” effective 1/1/04. This will be
done because a recent survey by Ossur of the Ossur Affiliates showed a
high demand for educational opportunities and less demand for marketing.
There will be no fees involved, but each member will have to attend a
Ossur Academy seminar. I am curious if there was an economic reason for
this decision. Could it be that enough customers stopped purchasing Ossur
products due to the controversial Ossur Affiliates program? I guess we
will all have to form our own opinions as to why this decision was made.
