It should not matter whether these individuals are providing patient care or if they are simply interested parties in the industry. They support the industry at trade shows, advertise in our journals and further our industry with their product developments. So long as their posts are grammatically correct and do not contain obvious spelling errors, I have no problem with their posts. Of course not being a practitioner I may be somewhat biased.

Subject: [OANDP-L] Sales Rep or Competition
Recently I have been noticing a lot of post by Licensed or Certified people working for some of the brace and prosthetic companies. (i.e., Generation II and Flotech) What I am try to find out is are these individuals product reps or in patient care. One resent post that puzzled me was:
Ladies and Gentlemen
I have an elderly patient with a failed TKA that we need to put into a Post -op design with a hinge that will lock automatically in extension and can be released by the patient for sitting. If you have any experience with this type of product please forward your response and I will post the results. Thank you in advance.
For a Licensed Orthotist this question would seem easily solved by a custom knee with bail or Kafo with bail. However this Orthotist apparently is unfamiliar with a brace that locks in extension and can be released by the patient.
