skeet shooting

beattie5

Dear List serve members,

I saw a man yesterday for evaluation. He has recently had a shoulder

disarticulation on his left side to remove a osteosarcoma. He has no

desire to wear a prosthesis, but wishes a device to help balance his gun

for competitive shooting. The rifle weights 8.5# . The sport involves

(so I’m told) 8 stations that require different angles to shoot the

targets, which are moving fast. Any one with any experience with either

shooting or fabricating something along these lines would be great.

Right now, we are considering a custom, plastic pelvic section with

metal rods coming from the side and umbilicus to support a U shaped

neoprene lined plastic cup. I’m thinking about using a quick disconnect

to allow him to change angles between stations, I can’t think of any way

of having the device allow for movement between shots, but still be

stabile enough to prevent movement during each shot.

thanks for any help

Wendy
