lets do away with the hassle and burden of a multiparty system, and replace it
with a few good people “in the know”…. Like that.. differences of
opinions…. Ahhh… who needs em…. they just get in the way of fast acting
leadership…
I run my business as a dictatorship… it’s mine, I make the decisions, and
right or wrong I reap the benefit of good choices, and feel the downside of
the bad ones. But when it comes to my professional associations, I feel very
different about it. These are areas that should not be subject to the
potential downside of hasty decision making from a few selected individuals.
This is an arena that needs diversity to keep its strength and long-term
viability..
These are my opinions, but don’t feel that just because I’m a young
practitioner coming up in the world, that I don’t have very definite thoughts
regarding this issue… I would hate to think that the only alternative
professional group would be the IAOP, I don’t even want to go there….. But
I assure you there are young practitioners out there that not only give a hoot
about P & O, but are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that the
profession is not undermined by manufacturers.
There are inherent differences in the goals and objectives of the people that
make up this industry. To have these voices lumped into one, to me, makes no
sense at all, and I don’t think you have to be a rocket scientist to figure
out why the academy should be NOT be required to cow-tow to AOPA – AKA “the
limb manufacturers of America” (or something like that)
By the way, Bob personally I respect you highly, as do many in this field. But
the arguments for this whole affair are in my opinion a ploy to sucker in the
“profession” into the arm of the manufacturers and large clinical companies.
I think that’s plain to see.
