lamination configurations: responses

Hi to List Participants,

Thanks very much for all the responses I received. I have compiled the

info for anyone out there who is interested. I apologize for the delay.

The following manufacturers have recommended lamination configurations

that are available for the asking:

IPOS (800) 626-2612

Fillauer (800) 251-6398

Otto Bock (800)328-4058

These are recommended procedures that each manufacturer follows for

their in-house central fabrication. There is no research backing

“why” they do “what” they do…other than over time these procedures

seem to work. (Incidentally, I contacted Cascade for their procedures

and was informed they no longer have a central fabrication facility.)

FYI, Tom Lunsford wrote a publication titled, Strength of Materials in

Orthotic and Prosthetic Design available through the O&P National Office

Customer Service Department for about $50 @ (703) 836-7114. To be

honest I have not read this publication myself.

Lastly, I was given a few websites to check out, concerning lamination

info used in other industries:

http://www.ihpva.org/SourceGuide/Publications/books.html

http://www.ihpva.org/SourceGuide/Materials/

http://www.aircraft-spruce.com/main.html

I hope this info proves useful to you folks out there in cyberspace.

Happy Holidays!
