Following yesterdays post on the Gritti-Stokes procedure I have had a
number of replies for which I thank you. However, There seems to be some
confusion as to what this procedure entails. Looking back in my notes from
university I find it described as follows:
In the Gritti-Stokes procedure the distal end of Femur is removed at the
level of the Adductor Tubercle. The back of the Patella is then removed and
the remainder is sutured to the end of the Femur. There then follows
Myodesis in which the large muscle groups are secured to the end of Femur.
I hope this clarifies things. Do please keep the replies coming. I will, of
