Paul & List–
The American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists is supposed to be for the
INDIVIDUAL practitioner’s benefit and professional growth. I don’t believe
having the national scientific meeting at a hotel that charges $150.00 to
$170.00 PER DAY (and probably not including taxes…) encourages membership in
or attendance by new or potential young practitioners!!!
Attendance should be encouraged and promoted by KEEPING THE COST DOWN! Let
the AOPA National be the expensive meeting since it is more business related
and owners and facility managers, etc. have more discretionary $$ to spend
than the new certifee who is still paying off college debts!
The individuals in the national office who are responsible for arranging these
meetings seem to be wholy out of touch with the membership of the Academy.
Perhaps this is what happens when all of out organizations are lumped together
in one office…
Does anyone else feel this way or am I the only “cheapskate” on the list??
