front office software-responses

Folowing are the responses I have received: in response to my query. I don’t

know what the protocol is on including the names of the senders, so I have

left them off.

Thanks to those who responded! Happy Holidays!

We have used Dezine and dumped it. Don’t even give it a look. We have

switched to MedFlex by OPEN. This has been far superior and easier to use.

We do use a scheduler. This takes some time to get use to but so far we like

it. As we use more and more of the software we keep a “wish list” of things

we would change. The programers have been very receptive to making changes.

Currently we are expanding the system to other locations so that each office

can track their own A/R, schedules, etc. We feel this system is our key

management tool because it will track many different areas of our operation.

However before it can do this the info must be input in a particular

sequence. This may cause you to change your particular routine which will

drive everyone absoultly nuts. The good news is once the learning curve is

over each office should function in the same way from an operations

standpoint. Now you can each manage location the same way based on what you

have chosen to measure. After all you can’t manage what you don’t measure!

Call Mike Bass @ 800-559-6736 for more info and a demo. Good luck.

NovaCare uses the Tops Software (probably the same software, perhaps even

the same version, as when you were with Orthomedics). Of course I don’t

use the software so I’m no expert, but apparently it is adequate for

billing and accounts receivables.

My personal opinion is that it seems to fall short in available reports.

I’m often told the software is not capable of producing information that I

believe other databases can.

We use MOM & POP in office. Slow in windoww version, We use quicken for bills.

Appointments we use a program from Spectrafost in Arizona. It is very

versitile and can be arranged however you want.

I have used Dezine and although the software is good, the support was

terrible. I now use Medmaster which is better, but again the support is

marginal at best.

Our facility has used MOM &POP for eight years. The office staff loves it. We

have computers at the practitioners’ desks so they have access to their

schedules. My major complaintr is that it is still a DOS program. The

developers tell me they will have a windows version in Spring1998.

We have a program called Medisoft. It’s a DOS program, but runs fine in

Windows ’95. It’s simply a medical A/R and scheduling package.Single version

about $495 and network version about $895. Yearly maintenance about $150.

About 40,000 users, mostly medical and dental. Based in Chandler or Mesa,

Arizona. We use Peachtree accounting payroll ledger, A/P and PO’s. Our

accountant also uses it.
