Sounds like a common problem. There are several things I would want to know:

1. Does she have normal range of motion (not muscle shortening but true

range in hips, knees and ankles) or is she fixed anywhere.

2. Have you suggested any tone inhibiting medications? Klonopin is great

but Baclofen works too. These go a long way toward allowing you to get

increased muscle length through seriel casting if you have joint range. In

addition, it makes gait patterns better and allows strengthening. Side

effects vary, consult your referring physician.

3. If tone can be controlled, your derotation straps may help, but in loo

of that, have you tried using leukotape? B. Cusik instructs on tapping for

neuromuscular re-education but in some instances it helps with alignment

too. I have used this with some success on much younger children.
