Ertl Procedure

I am currently searching for any articles regarding the Ertl procedure of

ostoemyoplasty. The 1992 Atlas of Limb Prosthetics makes mention of it

(pp. 440-441) and references other sources. Could anyone help me find any

additional information? Of particular interest would be research of it’s

effectiveness for weightbearing, skin tolerance, and any long term

effects.

Also, the Atlas references an article by PA Deffer entitled More on the

Ertl osteoplasty in Amputee Clin 1970; 2:7-8. I haven’t been able to get

my hands on this article yet. Any help would be appreciated.
