The Orthotics and Prosthetics Foundation for Education and Research and the American Board for Certification for Orthotics, Prosthetic and Pedorthics (ABC) named Kelly Moton, CPO, as its 2025 recipient of the ABC Resident Travel Award. The award supports travel to the American Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetics (the Academy) annual meeting for a resident to present results of its National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education Directed Study.
Moton earned the award for “Development of a Psycho-educational Support Group Program for Newly Braced Scoliosis Patients-A Pilot Study.”
Moton completed her master’s degree in O&P at Baylor College of Medicine. She holds an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering with a focus on biomechanics and a minor in psychology from Case Western Reserve University. She is a member of the Academy and volunteered with multiple programs supporting athletes with disabilities throughout her residency.
She will begin working at Boston O&P, headquartered in Massachusetts, in January 2025.
