The Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF), serving as a philanthropic arm of the O&P community in the United States, has begun its annual search for individuals who would like to participate in the O&P community through service on its board of directors. Nomination materials are due by July 28; terms will begin on December 1.
Nominees are needed for at least three seats on the board of directors. Board members serve a one-year, two-year, or three-year term and are required to attend at least one of two face-to-face board meetings held in conjunction with the the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association and the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists national meetings. Additionally, directors are expected to be vitally involved in the ongoing work of OPAF and the First Clinics and to take an active role with all fundraising efforts.
Nominees should have an appropriate background, a familiarity with and dedication to fundraising, and a strong commitment to OPAF’s primary mission; a history of 501(c)(3) nonprofit committee/volunteer work is preferred, but not required.
