Operation Namaste traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal, in October to teach a clinical workshop about the organization’s socket technology. The workshop, led by Operation Namaste founder Jeff Erenstone, CPO, and a group of O&P clinicians, was attended by over a dozen Nepali doctors who learned about the total surface bearing transtibial sockets.
“This visit to Nepal accomplished our goals and we are looking forward to going back in March to continue to educate clinicians on new technologies in order to improve patient care and quality of life,” Erenstone said.
In September, Operation Namaste traveled to Ukraine to educate Ukrainian prosthetists on the use of modern technologies to make prosthetic care more rapid and accessible. While the team fitted several prostheses for patients during the trip, the primary goals were to educate local clinicians on the use of modern technologies, including 3D printing, and equip them with mobile equipment and supplies to make prosthetic care faster and more accessible in the war-torn country.
