Össur,
Reykjavik, Iceland, announced that Alexander Schwartz, a bilateral
amputee who was born with fibular hemimelia, is the winner of its 2017
#MyWinningMoment online contest. Össur received more than 400 entries
for this year’s contest.
Schwartz, of St. Louis, says the moment
he began to embrace his adversity was the winning moment that changed
his life. Though he credits his job working on a TV show as helping him
share his story and connect with others, it was the running blades he
received from Össur that made the difference in his physical mobility as
well as in his perspective on life. As this year’s contest winner,
Schwartz and a guest will take a four-day, three-night trip to
Reykjavik.
