Ottobock, Duderstadt, Germany, has named Sarik Weber to the role of chief digital officer (CDO), effective May 1. Weber will shape the company’s digital agenda with Heiko Reinhard, who is assuming the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO). Their work will center on marketing and sales. The company’s CEO, Oliver Scheel, PhD, has made IT a top priority, and Weber will report to him.
“Sarik Weber is an experienced expert with an entrepreneurial mindset, and I am delighted to have him on the team…. His task is to oversee the digital transformation within the company and drive it forward. To this end, he will be focusing our approximately 30 ongoing projects and ensuring that they are transparent,” said Scheel.
Weber founded start-up generator Hanse Ventures and helped to build up the Xing career portal and launch it on the stock market. Reinhard previously served as the CEO of IT service provider Sycor, whose parent company is Otto Bock, and as IT director North America at Ottobock.
