We asked a two-part question on the pros and cons of 3D printing. Of those who responded to our question on the challenges of 3D printing, 39 percent said high equipment costs are the biggest challenges, 28 percent said regulatory and quality standards are concerns, 17 percent said limited material selection are issues, and 17 percent said one of the challenges with 3D printing comes from modification difficulties.
Another poll highlighted an article from our sister publication, Amplitude, about social media influencers with amputations. Public opinion on influencers—a person who can shape the opinions, behaviors, and buying choices of others—can be mixed. We asked how our followers feel about them. Of those who responded, 54 percent said social media influencers have a place, 38 percent of the respondents said they are not interested in what influencers have to say (like this writer), and 8 percent said they like to make up their own minds, thank you very much.
Last week, our poll focused on advanced degrees. Going to school to earn an advanced degree is generally harder than earning an undergraduate degree. What about going to school for orthotics and prosthetics? Easier or harder? Of those who responded, 41 percent said it depends on your college degree, 30 percent said it was easier than they thought, 26 percent said it was much harder than they thought, and 4 percent had other ideas, but didn’t share them.
