In an August 2021 feature in The O&P EDGE magazine, a story highlighted the trials and tribulations of the O&P insurance approval process. According to some of the latest national polling, when it comes to health insurance most people in the United States are relatively happy with their own coverage. However, when it comes to the overall healthcare system, the view appears to be less favorable.
We asked our followers, What is your view of the country’s current healthcare system? Of those who responded more than half, 59 percent, said the current system needs an overhaul, 27 percent have an unfavorable view of the country’s healthcare system, 8 percent said they have a somewhat favorable view, and 5 percent said they have a favorable view.
Finally, what would Christmas and the holidays be without holiday music? Of those who shared their favorite holiday tunes, 33 percent each said “Silent Night” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” 11 percent said “Jingle Bells,” and 22 percent of our followers voted for another favorite, but they didn’t tell us which one.
Now that we’re two weeks into the new year, we’re betting you thought we were going to ask about New Year’s resolutions, sorry, but you would be wrong (Most of us have likely broken them anyway.). Since many Americans say their smartphones are the number-one necessity in their lives, we decided to ask a two-part question about them.
A survey a few years ago by the World Economic Forum found that more than one-third of the 8,000 respondents considered their smartphone “their life,” using it from the moment they wake until they go to bed. Our survey question last week was, Why do you think we spend so much time looking at our smartphones?
Of those who responded, 71 percent said we’re addicted to our cell phones, 26 percent said our phones have everything we need on them, and 3 percent said cell phones provide a nice distraction from everyday life.
Since most people are constantly looking at their cell phones, the first thing they usually see is their screensaver. Our cell phone-related question for this week is, What’s on the face of your phone? The poll is up and in full swing. So far, it’s a tie beneath photos of our spouses and our pets.
Tell us what you think. We’d love to hear from you.
