One poll question focused on Memorial Day, which most everyone knows was created to remember military service members who died in the line of duty. The long weekend has also become synonymous with the unofficial start of summer. Of those who responded to our question “How Do You Plan to Spend the Memorial Day holiday?” 52 percent said they had planned to fire up the grill; 33 percent said they had planned to travel for vacation; 10 percent said they were planning to participate in a Memorial Day tradition such as going to a parade or visiting a veteran’s cemetery, and five percent said they were planning to advantage of sales.
Our poll question last week focused on what the workplace will look like in the future. Research predicts the most high-value work will likely be cognitive in nature. Research is also tending to show that employees will have to apply creativity, critical thinking, and constant digital upskilling to solve complex problems.
Our question was “What do you believe will play a major role in the workplace for the future?” Most respondents at 62 percent, said AI and automation; 32 percent said remote work; and seven percent said virtual, augmented reality.
Our Twitter followers were unanimous, saying AI and automation will be the workplace of the future.
