Most respondents to the recent poll on The O&P EDGE social media sites said while they believe osseointegration (OI) will eventually become the procedure of the future, a traditional socket will still be hard to replace.
Twenty-five percent said OI will be the method of the future, but 68 percent said both OI and a traditional socket could coincide. Four percent reported that it would be difficult to replace a conventional socket, and four percent had no opinion either way.
The results are also in for the poll about attending conferences virtually. More than half, 54 percent, preferred to attend conference in person, face-to-face is best, they said. Nineteen percent also said in-person attendance was better because they loved to travel, and another 19 percent said both virtual and in-person conferences had pros and cons. Finally, eight percent of those responding said they preferred virtual conferences—less hassles on the home front.
