It seems like the entire world is in need of a superhero, now more than ever, so our poll asked which superhero would you pick? Thirty-three percent of those who responded said Wonder Woman; 25 percent voted for Captain America; 29 percent said Superman, and 13 percent said Batman was their superhero of choice. All votes on Twitter went to Wonder Woman. Any or all of those would be fine, thank you.
A common criticism of recent O&P graduates and the schools that train them is that novice clinicians lack hand skills, so our previous week’s poll asked, “What should be done to improve hand skills?”
Half of those who responded said the master’s degree curriculum should be changed; 39 percent said hand skills should be part of a resident’s training; and nine percent of those who responded think hand skills should be learned on the job. Two percent said: “Skip. No longer important.”
And speaking of our latest poll, in some professions employers require a certain number of workers to be on call and available to work with limited notice. Since most O&P facilities have on-call employees, the profession is no exception. Our question—How does your company compensate for on call work?—is up and in full swing.
Tell us what you think. We’d love to hear from you.
