Proteor hired Joe Fairley, CP, MPO, MS, as the business development manager and the newest member of its digital services team.
Fairley will be working with the Proteor team to further expand their digital portfolio, which is anchored by the Orten family of software and hardware solutions. The digital team’s goal is an extension of Proteor’s greater mission, to create and provide innovative solutions for people who want to increase their independence and well-being. On the clinical side, that translates to a cycle of continuous innovation and the development of user-friendly solutions that makes life easier for O&P clinicians and their patients, Fairley said.
As a part of this new opportunity, Fairley says his company, Ascent Fabrication, New York, which he founded in April 2021, will transition its O&P business to Proteor.
“Ascent Fabrication will continue business outside of the O&P field through the sales and training of 3D printers and 3D printing materials,” he said. “Namely, we will be growing our business with Blackbelt 3D—an industrial conveyor belt 3D printer, as the North America distributor, along with PPprint and colorFabb materials distribution in North America.”
The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists also named Fairley chair of the CAD/CAM Society. The CAD/CAM Society’s mission is to promote and support utilization of computer-aided design and manufacturing in the O&P profession.
