The Orthotics and Prosthetic Foundation for Education and Research (The O&P Foundation) appointed Fanny Schultea, MS, MSED, CPO/L, FAAOP, as its new executive director. Schultea, who began her role on September 1, has extensive O&P education, research, and project management experience.
Schultea is an assistant professor in Baylor College of Medicine’s Orthotics and Prosthetics Program. She is the former inaugural O&P iQ director and is passionate about process improvement in healthcare, evidence-based practice, and research translation.
“It is my honor to serve the foundation board and the O&P profession by supporting the continued development and growth of this incredible organization. I look forward to working toward providing the resources and structures to build stronger connections between research, education, and clinical practice in O&P. Recognizing excellence and meaningful contributions in patient-centered education, research, and practice reinforce the efforts of those committed to serving the field,” Schultea said.
“We are excited to introduce our new executive director, Fanny Schultea,” said Shane Wurdeman, PhD, co-chair of The O&P Foundation. “We believe her shared vision for the future of orthotic and prosthetic research and education will accelerate the achievement of the strategic goals of The Foundation.”
