The University of Washington Center on Outcomes Research in Rehabilitation (UWCORR) research team was awarded the 2025 Brian Blatchford and Joyce Blatchford Team Prize for Innovation during the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics World Congress 2025 in June. The team was recognized for their outstanding contributions to advancing O&P technology.
The UWCORR team included Brian Hafner, PhD, professor; Cody L. McDonald, PhD, MPH, CPO/L, assistant professor; Dagmar Amtmann, PhD, research professor Emeritus; Geoffrey S. Balkman, PhD, CPO/L, assistant professor; and Sara J. Morgan, PhD, assistant professor.
Established in memory of Brian and Joyce Blatchford, the prize is awarded to a team with an exceptional record of innovative achievement in O&P, particularly in hardware or the development of scientifically based new techniques that result in improved O&P devices.
